Dr. Kira Swan grew up in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. She attended Dalhousie University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, ON. In addition, Dr. Swan is a NCCP qualified gymnastics coach. She was a competitive dancer growing up, and has taught Acro at different dance schools around HRM.
Dr. Swan has a keen interest in preventative care, acute and chronic sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, and occupational injuries. With her background, she has a special interest in treating gymnasts and dancers, and is fascinated by the demand these sports put on the body. She uses a combination of manual adjusting, soft tissue therapy, movement screening and exercise prescription to deliver the best treatment plan for you individually. She is also certified in Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University, RockTape® Basic & Performance Functional Movement Training (FMT), and a SmartTools® Provider (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy).
In her spare time, Dr. Swan is usually on an adventure with her dogs, Oliver and Winston. She loves to travel and is always planning her next trip! She is a hockey and baseball fan, but is happy watching any sport.
